Broadcaster, writer, actor and all-round clever man Stephen Fry has beaten off competition from favourite comedian Michael McIntyre, Strictly Come Dancing runner-up Matt Baker and X Factor judge Cheryl Cole to top our first annual poll of Best TV Personality 2010.
- 21% of Brits voted Stephen Fry their favourite TV personality of the year.
- In equal second came presenters Ant & Dec, and comedians Harry Hill and Michael MacIntyre, all with 15%.
- Matt Baker, and ITV ‘Queen of the Jungle’ Stacey Solomon came joint third on 8%.
It’s been a good year for Stephen Fry among YouGov panellists; he was voted one of twenty ‘national treasures’ in a past poll, and his book The Fry Chronicles: A Memoir has been voted 2010’s Best Book in another YouGov Awards 2010 result.
