YouGov European tracker series looks at the popularity of the leaders of Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Spain
Keir Starmer – United Kingdom
December’s tracker poll found that 17% of Britons had a favourable opinion of Keir Starmer and 76% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for November’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Emmanuel Macron – France
December’s tracker poll found that 16% of French people had a favourable opinion of Emmanuel Macron and 79% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for November’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Friedrich Merz – Germany
December’s tracker poll found that 25% of Germans had a favourable opinion of Friedrich Merz and 69% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for November’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Giorgia Meloni – Italy
December’s tracker poll found that 35% of Italians had a favourable opinion of Giorgia Meloni and 56% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for November’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Pedro Sánchez – Spain
December’s tracker poll found that 30% of Spaniards had a favourable opinion of Pedro Sánchez and 66% had an unfavourable opinion.
This represents a notable decline in popularity since November’s survey, with the number of Spaniards holding a favourable view falling by five points and the number with an unfavourable view rising by four points.
Mette Frederiksen – Denmark
December’s tracker poll found that 34% of Danes had a favourable opinion of Mette Frederiksen and 63% had an unfavourable opinion.
This represents a notable fall in popularity since November’s survey, with the number of Danes holding a favourable view decreasing by four points and the number with an unfavourable view increasing by five points.
