As lockdowns ease across the UK, some Brits wish they had been more productive during lockdown
By 17 May many of the remaining significant COVID-19 restrictions in England, Scotland and Wales will be lifted, allowing people to once again meet indoors and allow hospitality to reopen in full. While a few restrictions will remain on larger events and gatherings, the change will mean life will start to get back to normal for many people.
With the end in sight, is there anything Britons wish they had done differently during their time in lockdown?
Overall, one in four Britons (25%) say they had some form of regret. The most common regret, expressed by one in nine (11%) of those who wish they’d done lockdown differently, is not having been healthier or exercised more – including 13% of women and 8% of men.
A further 9% of people with lockdown regrets lament not being more productive in learning a new skill, language, or instrument, a feeling consistent among ages and genders.
Some 6% of those with a regret say they wish they had spent more time doing up their home or gardening, including 11% of those aged 65 and over compared to just 1% of those aged between 18 and 24 who feel the same.
