The crew of Dynasties, David Attenborough’s new show about the natural world, broke one of his own rules when they intervened to help save some emperor penguin chicks who were struggling in the Antarctic winter. Normally they follow the rule that they do not interfere with whatever they are documenting, but in this case they erected a shallow ramp so that some of the chicks who had become separated from the rest of their colony could save themselves.
