This week, SportsLab’s fans expect Manchester City and Tottenham to record wins at home against Norwich and Bolton respectively. A strong majority of SportsLab’s football fans also expect Arsenal to pick up three points at Wigan and Manchester United to beat Aston Villa. SportsLab’s participants also predict victories for QPR, who play West Brom at Loftus Road, Everton, who host Stoke at Goodison Park, and Liverpool, who will take on Fulham on Monday night at Craven Cottage.

Half of SportsLab’s football fans expect a draw when Newcastle host Chelsea (and less than a quarter predict an away win, reflecting the pressure Andre Villas-Boas finds himself under). A draw is also the expected outcome when Sunderland, who this week sacked manager Steve Bruce, travel to Wolves, while Blackburn and Swansea are also expected to share the points.

Last week, SportsLab’s fans and established pundits alike struggled with their predictions; only four of the results tipped to occur by our SportsLab’s clairvoyants came to pass. How will they fare with this week’s fixtures? Check back next week to see how you fared…

Labs Method statement

YouGovLabs research is anecdotal, with polls being open to all panellists who wish to take part. In contrast to YouGov’s Public Opinion polling, YouGovLabs seeks to understand the attitudes of specific subsets of people: sports fans tell us how they feel about sports and music fans tell us how they feel about music, for example. YouGovLabs results are unweighted, and figures reported do not reflect the attitudes of the population as a whole.
