YouGov European tracker series looks at the popularity of the leaders of Britain, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy and Spain
Keir Starmer – United Kingdom
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 20% of Britons had a favourable opinion of Keir Starmer and 72% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for September’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Emmanuel Macron – France
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 15% of French people had a favourable opinion of Emmanuel Macron and 79% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for September’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Friedrich Merz – Germany
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 31% of Germans had a favourable opinion of Friedrich Merz and 65% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for September’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Giorgia Meloni – Italy
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 39% of Italians had a favourable opinion of Giorgia Meloni and 54% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for September’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Pedro Sánchez – Spain
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 35% of Spaniards had a favourable opinion of Pedro Sánchez and 62% had an unfavourable opinion.
These scores are within the margin of error of those for September’s survey, and therefore represent little change.
Mette Frederiksen – Denmark
October 2025’s tracker poll found that 36% of Danes had a favourable opinion of Mette Frederiksen and 59% had an unfavourable opinion.
This represents a notable decrease in popularity since September’s survey, with the number of Danes holding a favourable view having fallen by six percentage points and the number with an unfavourable view having risen by five percentage points.
