Last week, a new book made a series of “explosive” claims about Prince Andrew, including that he knew Jeffrey Epstein for a decade longer than he has previously claimed, that compromising material on the Duke of York may be possessed by foreign intelligence services, and that he was given a bloody nose during an altercation with Prince Harry.

Given the Duke of York’s troubled history, there are reports that Prince William, currently heir to the throne, has plans to strip his uncle of his remaining titles when he becomes king, a move which would require the use of little-known and complicated legislation, according to the Telegraph’s royal correspondent Hannah Furness.

It is a move that would have significant support among the British public, with a new YouGov survey finding that 67% of Britons would back removing the Duke of York’s remaining royal titles, including 46% who “strongly” feel this way.

Only 13% are opposed, with this figure highest among Conservative voters (22%) and over-50 age groups (16-17%).

A separate recent YouGov survey found that Prince Andrew continues to languish at the bottom of the royal favourability tables, with just 5% of Britons having a positive view of him.
