YouGov and Ravensbourne College have announced the winner of the 2015 Design of Data Awards at an event at Mary Ward House in Bloomsbury.
The Design of Data Awards are YouGov’s annual collaboration with Ravensbourne College. Each year, YouGov challenges the college’s students to visualise its data through art in a compelling, accessible way. This year’s students brought to life data from YouGov Profiles, the new segmentation and media planning tool for agencies and brands.
This year, entrants were asked to answer one of four briefs about YouGov Profiles. Their work was then judged on how well they met one of these briefs as well as the design’s commercial usefulness. The Ravensbourne students who submitted designs were Malin Persson, Yvonne de Guzman, Angelo Rammessar, Beth Larder, Lucy Miller, Chris Davies, Nathaniel Smith and Louise Gadd.
Yvonne de Guzman was selected as the winner for a book that provided a consumer profile of automotive giant Honda using Profiles data. YouGov Group CEO and head judge, Stephan Shakespeare, praised the design for how well it explained the power of YouGov Profiles, how it showed how much data the tool has, and how it ably demonstrated the impact it can have for clients.
Yvonne took home a £2,000 prize as well as securing a paid one-month placement with YouGov’s Data Intelligence Unit.
