Election debates fail to impress voters

The one proper TV debate happens tonight. How important do people think it is?

We asked the people to consider the ones from the last time: "Thinking back to the last election in 2010, how much impact, if any, do you think the debates between the party leaders had on the eventual result?" 6% thought they'd had "a very large impact" and 29% "a significant impact", but 50% though little or no impact.

In fact though Nick Clegg enjoyed a big boost in the poll rating of the Lib Dems, they went on to lose seats in the election. Maybe they would have lost still more if it hadn't been for Clegg's performance. So how much impact do people expect tonight's debates to have? Less than last time: the comparable numbers are 4%, 23%, and 57%.
