Women of the same age are half as likely to have been to the groom’s night out, however
Following the end of COVID-19 lockdowns across the UK, many people will find themselves swept up in a summer of wedding festivities as couples finally get to tie the knot. Traditionally this will include nights out for the gents of the groom’s party, and the ladies of the bridal party. However, some are choosing to drop the gender restrictions on their stag and hen parties, while others still are completely throwing them out the window in favour of a joint stag and hen do, dubbed the “sten do”.
YouGov Profiles reveals that the most likely people to have joined the opposite gender’s party are men aged between 25 and 34, one in ten (10%) of whom have been on a hen do. These men are twice as likely to have swapped sides as women the same age, 5% of whom have been on a stag party. Men in this age group are also among the most likely to have been to a sten do, at one in twelve (8%).
Among those in their mid-thirties and forties, 8% of men have been to a hen do, again twice as likely as women of the same age to have been on a stag do (4%). An equal proportion of both genders (7%) have been on a sten do, however.
