Walt Disney favourites

Today is the 75th anniversary of the release of Walt Disney’s ‘Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs’, which premiered this day in 1937. The Disney masterpiece, which was adapted from the Bavarian Fairy tale ‘Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge’, marked a major leap forward in animation and led to Snow White being the first fictional female character to be given a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Favourite film

We asked our panellists to weigh in on their favourite Disney film. Top of the list was The Jungle Book (1967), followed by The Lion King (1994) as the second most favourite Disney movie, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937) and Bambi (1942) tied for third.

Favourite Villain

Asked to choose their favourite from a list of Disney villains and fur obsessed Cruella De Vil, the villainess from 101 Dalmations (1961), came out on top. Ms De Vil was followed by Captain Hook, the baddie from Peter Pan, and in third place was Shere Khan, the evil tiger from The Jungle Book.
