Velvet-voiced singer Adele is receiving a very warm reception from our panellists as she shoots up the TellYouGov leaderboard in both volume (the numbers of people talking about her) and sentiment (whether people are talking negatively or positively).

Both scores have risen in the past 24 hours, continuing the broadly upward trajectory the artist has seen in the past two weeks, meaning that many panellists are choosing to comment positively on the star.

  • ‘Great voice’
  • ‘Absolutely stunning voice – makes your hair stand on end’
  • ‘Excellent singer!’
  • ‘Love her new songs!’

One panellist even admitted that ‘I don’t normally like this kind of music’ but ‘[her] song Rolling in the Deep is really good’.

Grammy award nominee Adele first came to mainstream attention in 2008 following the release of her debut album 19, from which she released the #2 single Chasing Pavements followed by Cold Shoulder and the Bob Dylan cover Make You Feel My Love. She has recently come in for even more critical acclaim for Rolling in the Deep, the first single from her second album, 21, which was released on January 24th.

BBC Music called the album ‘simply stunning’, and it seems that many of our panellists agree.
