55% of Reform UK voters believe a Reform UK government would make a very positive difference to the UK, while just 22% of Labour voters would say the same of a Labour government

When people vote for a party, they nearly always do so in the belief that, if that party got power, they would make at least some degree of positive difference to the country. However, a new YouGov survey shows that the strength of this belief is not even among all voters.

Those currently tending to vote Reform UK are the most optimistic about their party’s abilities, with 55% believing a Reform UK-led government would make a very positive difference to the UK, as part of a fuller 93% who feel such a government would make at least a fairly positive difference.

Green voters also tend to rate their party’s power to improve the country, with half (49%) of those currently backing the party saying they believe a Green-led government would make a very positive difference.

This contrasts with supporters of the three traditional parties, with only 28% of current Conservatives, 27% of Lib Dems and 22% of those currently intending to vote Labour saying a government led by their respective party would make a very positive difference to the UK.

Instead, these voters mostly believe their choice of party could only make a fairly positive difference to the UK if in power, with 63% of current Labour voters, 58% of Lib Dems and 52% of Conservatives saying so.
