Other roles include research posts at the Cambridge University Bennett Institute, Jesus College Cambridge, Clare Hall College Cambridge, and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI).

Education includes a doctorate and masters in international relations from Cambridge, an undergrad first in Greek from Birmingham/Aristotle Universities, and an army officer commission from Sandhurst. Career started as an assistant to Stefan Halper, a US government advisor, and ghost-writing books on foreign affairs, with a couple of bestsellers.
