The majority of the British public (55%) believes that England football team dressing room intruder Pavlos Joseph should be released without charge, as his trespassing, following the disappointing Saturday match against Algeria, did no harm. Only five percent think he should face jail given the major breach, with a further 34% feeling he deserves a minor punishment for breaking the law.
A sorry and deflated England team were visited by David Beckham and both princes following the disappointing draw on Saturday that has seen them receive widespread criticism in anticipation of today’s match against Slovenia, but their night didn’t end there. Pavlos Joseph, an England football fan, breached security when he stumbled into the England changing room, allegedly speaking to David Beckham and describing the team as a disgrace.
He was arrested for trespassing and faces a possible maximum sentence of six months in prison.
Pavlos Joseph has since claimed to have been looking for a toilet rather than aiming to break into the changing room, but it seems that much of the British public hope he will finally be relieved - by the South African authorities, that is.
