Every January, some people attempt to follow a vegan diet or lifestyle (i.e. cutting out animal products completely) as part of a challenge dubbed ‘Veganuary’ – either unofficially or under the auspices of a campaign of the same name.

Now a new YouGov survey finds that 3% of Britons intend to go vegan for the first month of 2026.

A further 90% say they don’t intend to take part, while 3% say they don’t drink alcohol in the first place.

Intended participation is largely even across social groups.
