The messaging app Whatsapp now encrypts every message, photo, video, file and voice call sent by its users. This means no‑one apart from the sender and receiver can access them – including hackers, internet providers, governments or Whatsapp itself. This makes it harder for law enforcement to intercept possibly dangerous communications, but increases privacy. Do you think this kind of encryption is a good thing or a bad thing?
