The update will enable users to recall their tweets within a five-second window.
Despite users asking for an “Edit” option on Twitter for years, the micro-blogging social platform was always reluctant to offer such a feature. But in a sign of a potential compromise, Twitter is testing an “Undo” option for sent tweets.
The “Undo” option would enable users to recall their tweets within a short window, allowing users to correct typos and factual errors. Twitter claims this popup element could force users to re-think before sending their tweets.
This feature could also potentially prevent users from sending offensive or unintended comments. Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey said they would not introduce a longer window to maintain the real-time nature of conversations on the platform.
