The Grocer and Mondelez International’s recent report on the UK’s attitudes towards breakfast reveals that oats (56%), bananas (52%) and yoghurt (51%) are popular breakfast choices.
The report states, the pandemic has significantly shifted UK’s breakfast habits. With Britons spending more time preparing meals at home, 33% of Brits reported never skipping breakfast since the lockdown began. 21% said they rarely missed breakfast, but 9% missed breakfast “all the time”.
41% of those polled, aged 25-34, said breakfast become much more or slightly more important to them since the lockdown. 34% of people aged 18-24 and Londoners (41%) share this sentiment. Overall, 40% of Brits said having a healthy breakfast has become more important.
However, on-the-go breakfast consumption decreased to 55% among Britons since the lockdowns were implemented. Length of the breakfast routines remained the same for 56% of the survey participants.
