General Counsel at the International Association of Privacy Professionals, Rita Heimes says parents must understand that these laws are mostly consent-based and they don’t restrict the collection of personal data. Parents often provide more than necessary information while customising app experiences for their children.
Authorities have fined major tech companies like Google and TikTok for violating children’s privacy regulations in recent years. So, brands should provide a safe, secure and healthy online experience to children during this crisis.
