The new version will be similar to the current mobile experience.
Facebook will roll out a redesigned version of its desktop website to all users before spring 2020. The redesign will only see changes in the user interface and not of any desktop functionalities.
The article states that this redesign was being talked about in April 2019, hence, it could be in its testing phase for an entire year before being introduced to all users. As of now, only a limited number of users can access the redesigned version through an invite-only basis.
The social media platform describes the restyling as a “fresh, simple Facebook”. Few of the key changes include a dark and light mode option, a three-columnar design instead of four, and mobile app-like navigation menu.
