TikTok has introduced new features that let users edit videos in other apps before publishing on the platform.
As per a study by Morning Consult which conducted over 2,000 survey interviews with 13-38 year-olds found that 40% of 13-16 year-olds report using one of the three platforms. US teenagers are as likely to use TikTok as Facebook or Twitter.
Where YouTube enjoys near total penetration, Snapchat is at 68% and Instagram at 79%. TikTok reportedly has 1.5 billion downloads worldwide, and is bringing in another 500 million users in 2019. But, compared to 2018, its new customer acquisition in Q3 slipped by 4%.
