Facebook has launched a tool for UK customers to be able to report ads they doubt of being scam ads. Users can flag suspect ads by clicking on “Report ads”, followed by “Misleading or scam ad” and finally, “Send a detailed scam report”.

The feature is a response to a lawsuit filed by consumer advice personality Martin Lewis last year. Lewis’ withdrawal of the lawsuit was in exchange for Facebook working towards implementing features to flag scam advertising. The platform will donate £3 million “worth of support in cash” and ad credits to Citizens Advice, a UK consumer advice charity.

The charity will in turn fund the newly launched Citizens Advice Scams Actions (Casa) service. This service is aimed at providing specialist one-on-one assistance to victims of scam ads or those users worried about being scammed.
