The photo-sharing app is giving a boost to its struggling IGTV feature
Facebook-owned Instagram recently made changes to its Explore page by showcasing IGTV, Stories and Shopping feature on the top of its navigation bar. The piece contends that the latest moves make it clear that Instagram and Facebook are seeing “shopping as a long term bet.”
The changes to Instagram’s Explore page comes as a part of the brands’ strategy to leverage income generation from within the feeds section. Though brands can’t pay for shoppable posts in Explore, it is expected to bring in significant revenue in the future.
IGTV, which hosts longer videos, also doesn’t host ads yet despite having more space for advertising. Instagram’s stories, which the brand is still figuring out how to monetise, will also appear in the navigational grid.
