Our latest daily polling figures for the Sun (fieldwork 16th-17th March) are:

  • Conservative 36%
  • Labour 32%
  • Liberal Democrat 20%
  • Others 12%

The polls remain steady with the Conservative lead continuing to float around 4 or 5 points as it did last week. The ITV interview with David and Samantha Cameron over the weekend clearly did not have the positive effect that some think Gordon Brown gained from his interview with Piers Morgan earlier in the year. Today was a difficult news day for Labour though, with Gordon Brown being accused of misleading the Chilcot inquiry over defence spending and the Conservatives in full attack over Labour's links with Unite. Our daily polling tomorrow will reveal if this had any immediate effect upon public opinion.
