Strictly: Louise’s good week boosts chances

Perfect score for Louise Redknapp's Argentine Tango sees her leap into first place among Strictly viewers' favourite celebs

Louise Redknapp’s scintillating Argentine Tango has lifted her to the top of viewers’ rankings, YouGov’s latest Strictly tracker shows.

After scoring a hat-trick of tens from the judges, Louise is now the audience favourite to lift the glitterball trophy. Among viewers with an opinion, 26% would like her to win, up from 17% the previous week. Despite being in the dance-off last weekend, Ore Oduba is still a Strictly audience favourite, with 20% wanting him to prevail.

Louise also saw a big leap among viewers when it comes to who they think will win. Following her successful Argentine Tango, 30% now believe she is likely to prevail the whole thing, almost double the number from last week (16%). Danny Mac was the other big winner from last weekend with 40% of viewers with an opinion now thinking he will take the prize (up from 30%).

Although Ore endured his most difficult weekend to date, he maintains his place among the three contestants viewers think have the best chance of success. While his numbers have halved since the previous week (from 33% to 15%), he is still comfortably ahead of the fourth-place when it comes to which contestant viewers with an opinion think will win.

Of course, a lot depends on the performances and the judges’ scores. Ore’s descent into the bottom two shows that the competition is getting to the stage where no one is safe.
