GPs say that they are having to see too many patients with complex conditions in a day, making it more likely that they will miss key symptoms. In response, the British Medical Association will this week vote on a proposal to allow GPs to shut their doors on days when they believe they cannot provide safe care to any more people. Given no increase in resources, should shutting doors be allowed?
