Popstar Robbie Williams is proving a popular topic of conversation on the TellYouGov leaderboard following his shock wedding at the weekend, increasing his volume score by 53 points to a respectable 82 in the last 24 hours. With a sentiment score of 9, it seems that feeling is mainly positive towards the singer.
Mr. Williams, who recently rejoined Take That, married long-term girlfriend US actress and model Ayda Field last weekend in a secret ceremony at his Beverly Hills home, at such short notice that his fellow band members could not even attend. Many TellYouGov users, or ‘tyggers’, have been congratulating the star on the marriage, with one saying ‘good for him, I hope they will both be happy for a long time’, with another simply wishing the couple ‘good luck!’
Although Williams had been with Field for four years prior to their wedding, he was once more famous for his bachelorhood years than his singing, having entered rehab several times, and been linked with several women, including former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell, without ever appearing to be seriously attached. However, one supportive tygger wrote that it is ‘fab that he has eventually settled down’; while another exclaimed, ‘it’s about time!’
And although sentiments have been mostly positive, there are some who seem less than impressed with the wedding. One said that they ‘can’t believe his marriage is making headline news’, while another similarly complained of ‘too much coverage’.
Whatever your opinions of Robbie’s marriage, spare a thought for many lovelorn fans who have been left heartbroken. One tygger summed up the mood, simply commenting, ‘he’s married :-( ’.
With the wedding set to be covered in Hello! Magazine, and Take That preparing to release a new album, Robbie looks likely to remain a popular topic on the TellYouGov leaderboard in weeks to come. And although he’ll be leaving his new bride quicker than he may have liked as he jets off to promote Take That’s new album, as far as Ayda is concerned, it looks like Robbie may have finally found his angel.
