US President Barack Obama has topped our poll as the foreign government head that Brits would most like as Prime Minister of the UK.
From a list of well-known international leaders, Obama was most popular with 21%, followed by Germany’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel (16%) and Australia’s Prime Minister Julia Gillard (13%).
China’s President Hu Jintao, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, Spanish PM Jose Luis Zapatero and Prime Minister of Italy Silvio Berlusconi were less popular, with just 1% of the vote each. Least popular, though, was Jacob Zuma, President of South Africa, who scored 0%.
Notwithstanding, a significant 32% of Brits said they ‘didn’t know’.
