New YouGov research, carried out on behalf of LowLow, reveals that nearly two thirds of Britons (63%) are planning to make New Year resolutions.

The research also highlights that for many of us, our resolve is short lived. Nearly one third of respondents (32%) suggest their resolutions are usually broken by the end of January; whilst a resolute 10% stated they never tend to break their New Year resolutions.

The survey reveals that more women are resolving to lose weight in 2015 (40%) than men (29%). Whilst only 5% of Brits say they are planning to give up smoking and 11% confirmed they were planning to stop drinking or reducing their alcohol intake in the new year.

Appreciating how hard it is to maintain that New Year resolve, LowLow is providing a helping hand this January with its range of meals, all under 350 calories (making them ideal for the 36% of women looking to eat more healthily), and its ‘Take 5 and make a difference’ campaign, which is about making small positive changes that make you feel great about yourself.

Other findings:

  • 36% of women and 30% of men are resolving to get fitter.
  • 36% of women and over a quarter of men (26%) are aiming to eat more healthily.
  • 15% of Brits said they were resolving to take more care of their appearance in 2015.
