With an array of hashtags, marketers should avoid using popular hashtags like #travel and focus on niche communities and interests and use relevant hashtags on Instagram. While marketers can use many hashtags, they must ensure the hashtags are contextually relevant.
Collaborating with micro-influencers who have fewer followers is encouraged as their audiences are more engaged than macro-influencers’. Post content at appropriate times to reach the target audience effectively. The highest engagement rate is between the 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. timeline.
Writing engaging captions can also drive engagement, as captions help drive engagement rate from under 4% to over 6%. Videos are preferred by audiences, as they are more “sticky”, sharable, and have the highest likes per post. Audiences also prefer carousel posts.
