86% of American consumers approve of small businesses

The annual report from the Public Affairs Council surveyed 2,199 adults in the US.

US consumers (46%) perceive pharmaceutical companies to be less trustworthy than other major corporations, according to the report. Only 13% of people believe they can be trusted over others.

Of those polled, 40% say the pharmaceutical business is under-regulated, while 22% believe it is "over-regulated.” Health insurance (41%), energy (34%), and technology (32%) are among the least trusted industries in the US.

Small businesses, however, enjoy the approval of 86% of Americans, compared to 53% who approve of large corporations. Only 39% of Americans support the federal government.
