A new Survey Monkey analysis of 1,097 US customers found that 77% of consumers are willing to pay more for environmentally-friendly products.
As per the Consumer Brand Association, 25 of the largest consumer packaging goods (CPG) companies have pledged to increase recyclable content, minimise packaging or reuse material. 80% of those companies are working towards fully recyclable packaging for all their products.
As per the Survey Monkey report, US consumers (44%) care about environmental issues, and approximately eight in 10 made their buying decisions last year based on their beliefs. Of those polled, 57% prefer products packaged using recycled products, followed by reusable (52%) and compostable (46%) packaging.
According to Meghan Stasz, Consumer Brand Association’s VP of packaging and sustainability, adopting sustainability practices early on could reinforce brand position and boost awareness. Tracking and collecting data on specific attributes can help brands achieve sustainability goals.
