The monetisation option will now be launched for short-videos and will resemble stickers on Stories
Through a blog post, Facebook’s App Monetisation director Yoav Arnstein announced that creators on Facebook can now include in-stream ads for videos as short as one minute. The ads will play after 30 seconds of a short video, and users watching them will likely see more ads.
For creators to be eligible they must have 600,000 minutes of viewing time across all videos in the last 60 days and have five or more active or live videos. The in-stream ads program for Live videos is through invite-only mode for creators with 60,000 minutes of Live viewing in the last 60 days.
Arnstein notes the company is exploring “in-stream ad formats to increase engagement through rewards or product interaction”. Further, paid online events will be expanded to 24 more countries.
