Netflix launches “Fast Laughs”

The platform has rolled out a new feature, “Fast Laughs”, which will automatically play one comedy video after another in a dedicated feed (similar to TikTok).

The Fast Laughs feed will be populated by comedy clips pulled in from the platform’s catalogue of films, shows, and stand-up specials. Like in TikTok, users can flip through the videos and watch clips as they load automatically one after the other.

The feed will let users share video clips on platforms like WhatsApp, Instagram, Snapchat, and Twitter. Content discovered from this feed can be added to the user’s Netflix watchlist. Having been tested, Fast Laughs is now available on iPhone devices across the US, UK, and Canada.

It will be rolled out to Android devices some months later. Netflix is treating the feature as an “extension of its product” and not a competitor to TikTok or a new service entirely.
