The search engine giant is about to roll out this update in May this year.
This update would make the expected user experience a factor in the search engine's ranking signals. The algorithm would evaluate a set of signals: mobile-friendliness, page load time, and compatibility to understand how a user would perceive a specific web page's experience.
Page Experience update would also consider Core Web Vitals – a certain area of the user experience that is measurable and reflects real-world experience. It would focus on three main aspects including loading, interactivity and visual stability. The update would further consider visual indicators of user experience.
However, Google would continue to support AMP because of its cost-effectiveness and easy-to-use features. The articles suggest that marketers visit the Core Vitals report in Google Search Console to prepare for this update.
