Auto manufacturers can directly build their software into the car with access to Amazon’s AI tech.
Amazon’s Alexa will now be available for carmakers, allowing auto companies to have access to its core artificial intelligence (AI). This will enable car makers to build their own tailor-made voice assistants faster and cost-efficiently.
While Amazon in the past allowed any consumer electronic device to integrate with Alexa, its AI tech wasn’t licenced to other assistant-like products until now. The new offering dubbed as “Alexa Custom Assistant” can be accessed by any company with a digital voice assistant need.
Companies can create their own wake words and custom voices, capabilities, and will “co-exist” with Alexa. With screens and software experiences inside of a car proving to be lucrative, the ecommerce giant has partnered with carmakers like Lamborghini and Rivian for direct Alexa integrations.
