With COVID-19 mandating social distancing norms, the growth of remote casting and video production accelerated.
The need for online casting and production tools increased during the pandemic to cater to the increasing demand for content required to support campaigns. Marketers started embracing these tools more as in-person gathering were restricted during the crisis.
Josh Ellstein, CEO of Backstage – a renowned casting app – said, “The pandemic has only accelerated adoption, and we expect it will continue.” Ellstein further added though governments have already started rolling out vaccines, there is no evidence that marketers are planning to revert to old casting plans.
With features like self-tape auditions and remote functionality, digital casting and video production apps are likely to prevail, even though marketers can also re-integrate in-person techniques. Remote functions are likely to stay due to their ability its efficiency in casting, creating and collaboration.
