Discovery believes Discovery+ will complement other streaming services in the market instead of competing with them.

By relaunching of Dplay as Discovery+, the TV network joins other streaming services offering “plus” services, like Disney+. Discovery+ now comes with an additional paid level which gives users on-demand access to its paid TV channels.

The streaming service will include its flagship Discovery Channel and 12 other channels, as well as a paid VOD library. Originals based on crime documentaries and supernatural-themed content like “The Osbournes: Night of Terror”, “Ghost Adventures” special will be included.

Discovery has launched a marketing campaign, “Stream What You Love”, to promote the streaming service in the UK. The TV network is offering gold bars on the Sky VIP loyalty program and promoting the streaming channel on Chris Evans’ breakfast radio show to drive subscriptions.
