Google shares data to help marketers connect with the most engaged consumers this holiday season.
With the holiday season fast approaching, Google released a 27-page guide highlighting data on consumer search behaviour. Search queries for “best affordable” grew over 60% YoY globally, and “fashion online shopping” was up 600% YoY.
Other relevant search queries that saw exponential growth worldwide this year were “curbside pickup” (over 3000%) and “support local businesses” (over 20,000%) since last year. Further, 69% of US consumers plan to buy more online this holiday season, compared to previous years.
Of those polled, 50% of American consumers tried a new shopping service for the first time this year. 70% of consumers were open to buying from new retailers this year and one in ten tried a new shopping app for the first time.
