Deloitte and Forrester’s 2020 holiday and year-end reports anticipate a surge in ecommerce sales.
While Deloitte expects the holiday retail sales to increase between 1% to 1.5%, the Forrester report expects retail sales to decline by 2.5% this whole year. However, Deloitte forecasts online retail sales to grow between 25% to 35% from November through January, reaching $182 billion to $196 billion in sales.
Whereas Forrester predicts online retail sales to rise by 18.5% in 2020, reaching 20.2% overall penetration in North America. Online retail sales for health and beauty could go up to 23% and 20% for consumer electronics.
A recent report by Redpoint Global states 62% of consumers plan to shop all their holiday buying online. Further, 49% of consumers are likely to buy from retailers that send them personalised content.
