Climate Pledge Friendly program will label products that meet one of 19 certifications for sustainability.

Amazon has launched a new environmental program to help climate-conscious consumers make informed purchase decisions regarding sustainable products. The company will place a climate label on products whose brand tries to reduce its carbon footprint.

The company said more than 25,000 products would display the climate label. It would be clearly displayed in the results page and have additional sustainability information on the product page. Amazon has also featured labelled products in a dedicated section of their store.

Amazon has collaborated with third-party certifications for this program. Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos says, “Climate Pledge Friendly is a simple way for customers to discover more sustainable products that help preserve the natural world.”
