The Harris Poll surveyed 1,869 US adults to understand the importance of 3D and AR technologies in retail amid coronavirus crisis.
Consumers are relying on product visuals more than ever to inform their purchasing decisions. 66% of the shoppers said they would be more interested in shopping on a website if it offered 3D/AR images.
66% of customers also said that three-dimensional or artificial reality visuals would increase their confidence in buying the right product. 42% of consumers asserted that they would pay more for a product if they could see it in 3D/AR.
Aiming to capitalise on consumer curiosity, Google has recently announced the global availability of its Swirl 3D advertisement format for brands. According to Google, the engagement rate of 3D ads is three times higher than the standard display or rich media ads.
