Small businesses must invest in digital experiences to attract younger cohorts of customers.

As per Salesforce’s biweekly research, 67% of consumers and 72% of millennials say they’re more committed to supporting small businesses amid COVID-19, than they were before it. Additionally, consumers (56%) and millennials (62%) are spending more at small businesses now than they did in 2019.

However, 63% of millennials and 61% of Gen Z consumers say they’re more likely to support small businesses with digital presences. With Gen Z decidedly engaging with social media content forms, small businesses must invest in digital experiences.

Offering curb-side pickup and creating safe experiences is recommended, as Baby Boomers and Gen X consumers are likely to shop at businesses with safety measures. 55% respondents polled in May 2020 stated that making consumers feel safe should be a businesses’ top priority.
