83% of Americans cannot “imagine not having a TV” at this time

Eight out of 10 American adults are using mobile phones more frequently, as per VAB

The VAB report states that TV continues to remain the most treasured media platform for consumers during the pandemic, as 83% of Americans say “they can’t imagine not having a television right now”. Younger viewers, like three-quarters of Gen Z and millennials, agree on TV being a must-have right now.   

Of those polled, 84% over the age of 18 said they now have more time to watch, listen, and read media. 37% of consumers reported watching a free streaming service like Pluto TV, Roku, or Tubi.

However, 76% of survey participants consider social media essential for staying in touch with friends and family. 51% tried new services like Zoom and Skype for the first time to communicate with friends and family.
