YouGov’s recent study tracks the variations in media consumption habits of adults in the UK from early 2019 till earlier this month.
The country-wide lockdown did not alter the British public’ viewing habits, even though video streaming sites saw an upswing in consumption, YouGov data has revealed. Media consumption has remained mostly stable during the first 23 weeks of 2020 as compared to the same period last year.
Netflix saw a 12% point rise YoY in early June when compared to 2019. Prime Video has seen an improvement of 9.6% points in the past year.
BBC News’s buzz score, which had made progress upwards since early March, has declined to levels lower than 2019 but remains higher than where it was at the start of 2020. But, the public broadcaster’s mouth of word score has risen during the pandemic and peaked at 17.5% mid-April.
