Backlinko analysed Google Lens search results to understand how visual search works.
The survey revealed that pages that have titles and URLs that match a Google Lens search term could have a ranking advantage over others. 32.5% of Google Lens results had a keyword that matched with the page’s title tag.
The report further found that images that are placed higher on a web page have higher chances of ranking in Google Lens search results. Approximately 1/3rd of Google Lens image results are images that appear in the top 25% space of a web page.
Google Lens also gives a ranking advantage to the websites that are optimised for mobile devices. 90.6% of Google Lens results appeared from mobile-friendly websites, while almost 77% of ranking pages in Google Lens are mobile-friendly.
