As per the report, 77% of Americans believe restaurants to be the hardest hit by the pandemic. More so than the airlines (54%) and live entertainment industries (42%), consumers were more empathetic towards restaurants’ plight.
Only 31% of respondents are concerned about the risks of going to a restaurant, as compared to a public event or taking a flight at 57% and 52% respectively. However, 48% say they would exercise caution when considering a visit to a restaurant in the future.
Further, only 37% of those polled say they would dine at a restaurant at least weekly. 73% of participants further expect new requirements and protocols to be in place in restaurants for at least six months.
