Global online fashion and apparel revenue improves 21% in April, after decline in March

April sales in the US are up by 24% compared to the same period last year, as per a report by Nosto.

The report states that following a 30% drop in online retail sales in March due to COVID-19, online sales for fashion and apparel industry grew 21% globally in April. Online visits, sales and orders exceeded last year’s numbers during the same period.

Although visits, orders and total sales in the US significantly dropped after March 12, sales for April increased by 24% compared to April 2019. Online visits and retail conversion rate improved 8% and 29% respectively.

However, the average order value (AOV) globally dropped 3% in 2020. The AOV in the US led by heavy discounting was down by 10% compared to April 2019.
