YouGov surveyed UK consumers to understand whether they would be comfortable visiting stores and public places once the lockdown in lifted.

Though Government ministers and business owners are hoping lifting up the lockdown would kickstart the economy, a recent YouGov research found a cautious public. A majority of Britons would be uncomfortable visiting restaurants (57%), coffee shops (58%), pubs and bars (63%) once the lockdown is lifted.

In case of both hairdressers or barbers and clothing stores, a majority of 48% would feel comfortable. 62% of UK consumers would be uncomfortable joining gyms, while 60% would feel uncomfortable visiting beauty and nail salons.

Overall 54% of men would feel comfortable going back as compared to 42% of women. Similarly, 64% of people aged between 18 and 24 also said they would feel comfortable visiting clothing stores.
